Remember that by purchasing a ticket for a class, you are stating that you are aware that horse riding is classified as an extreme sport and carries a high risk of injury. I understand

1. How can I sign up for classes?

You sign up for classes via www.bilety.torpartynice.pl. The online sales system allows you to purchase a ticket for a class that will be held earliest on the day following the day on which the ticket purchase was made.

2. How to sign up for today’s classes?

You can sign up for today’s classes by telephone only. Rides for the current day are not displayed in the system. The inability to purchase a ticket via the online sales system does not mean that it is not possible to purchase a ticket at the Wrocław Partynice Racecourse ticket office after booking a date via phone in advance.

3. When will the ride schedule be available online?

The schedule for a given month is made available online on the 20th of the preceding month.

4. What does learning to ride a horse look like, and how much time does it require?

Riding lessons for the youngest, from the age of 3, start with a 20-minute class aiming to familiarise the child with the horse through play and teach balance and coordination.

Children from the age of 6 and adults start their horse riding lessons with longeing. The horse is kept on a longe line by the instructor, who causes the horse to move. The rider has the opportunity to exercise and concentrate solely on himself. It is difficult to determine the number of rides needed to progress to the next stage. The pace of learning depends on the individual skills and aptitude of the rider.

5. What type of classes to choose?

CHILDREN:

Beginners – children starting with horse riding. Choice of activities according to age. Classes for children aged 3–6 years, from 7 years learning to ride ponies – longeing.
Intermediate – children able to walk and trot are enrolled in pony riding lessons – longeing group.
Advanced – children able to walk, trot, and canter/gallop who are with us for the first time are enrolled in the beginner’s group on ponies.

All children in our nursery ride ponies. The instructor qualifies the child for classes on horses.

ADULTS:

Beginners – people starting with horse riding. Learning to ride on horses – longeing.
Intermediate – those able to walk and trot are enrolled in horse riding lessons – longeing group.
Advanced – people able to walk, trot, and canter/gallop, who are with us for the first time, are signed up for a beginner’s longeing group on horses.

The above guidelines are a suggestion to sign up for specific classes. On the other hand, one should bear in mind that the instructor qualifies for the class each time and decides whether to change the type of class.

6. Do I need to have special skills to sign up for classes?

You do not need to have any special skills. We welcome all those wishing to start their adventure with horse riding. On the other hand, it is important to remember that the person wishing to start learning must be physically fit. If you have any doubts about which type of class to choose, you are welcome to contact us via tel. 691 495 923.

7. How often should one ride to make learning efficient?

In the process of learning to ride a horse, regularity is very important, especially in the early stages. The minimum is twice a week, and the preferable number of weekly lessons is three. Riding too infrequently does not guarantee visible progress, and it is worth bearing this in mind. Regularity is very important.

8. Is horse riding a safe sport?

Horse riding is classed as an extreme sport and involves a high risk of injury, something you should be aware of when you start your adventure with horses. This is why the place where you will learn to ride is so important. At our centre, we attach particular importance to safety. The regulations and the instructions of the instructors must be strictly adhered to on the premises. A riding helmet is compulsory on all rides, and you are also encouraged to take out individual accident insurance. We make every effort to ensure that our students have only positive experiences with horses, but it is important to remember that a horse is an animal with a fugitive nature, and we cannot 100% predict its behaviour.

9. My child used to ride on horses. Why does it have to ride ponies at your school?

The horse should be adapted appropriately in height to the rider. Maintaining the proportions is very important for safety and to be able to interact properly with the horse, and to learn the correct way how to mount.

10. At what skill level is needed to be able to participate in field classes?

Willingness to sign up for such classes must be reported to the instructor, who will assess your skills and qualify you for the class. Field classes are held with an instructor only.

11. What are the minimum and maximum ages of a participant in equestrian activities?

Children can start horse riding regularly from the age of 3. Below this age, you can only benefit from a pony ride in the “Konikowo” with a parent’s assistance. We have no upper age limit.

12. Are there weight restrictions for riders?

The maximum weight for the rider is 95 kg. A generally accepted rule of thumb is that a horse should not have a load greater than 15% of its body weight. Bigger horses usually weigh around 600 kg.

13. How to dress for classes?

We do not need to invest in a professional riding outfit at the beginning of a horse riding adventure. When preparing for your first class, wear comfortable clothing which doesn’t restrict your movement.
Mandatory:
– long, comfortable trousers that will be stretchy, with as few seams as possible on the inside of the thighs
– full footwear with a flat sole to avoid wedging in the stirrups
– helmet – available for rent on site

The same dress code applies in both summer and winter. It is also worth remembering not to wear jewellery (rings, earrings, pendants) and to tie up long hair.

14. What is the most important piece of equestrian equipment to stock up on when you first visit an equestrian shop?

Once we are convinced that we want to continue with horse riding, it is worth starting slowly to complete the equipment. The most important point will be an approved riding helmet. Next, you may consider buying riding breeches or footwear: short or long riding boots.

15. Can I choose which horse I want to ride?

Horses for riding are allocated by the instructor in charge of the class from a pool of horses available to him/her for the hour. Every horse teaches us something different, so it is very important to change horses and learn to ride different ones.

16. Do I have to clean my horse before riding?

Preparing a horse for riding is an integral part of equestrianism. Therefore, every rider should be able to take care of their horse and prepare it for riding. Participants in longeing classes, longeing groups, training and recreational groups clean and saddle their horses themselves.

17. Does the horse's preparation time count as riding time?

The duration of the preparation of the horse for riding in longeing classes, longeing groups, training and recreational groups is included in the classes. For longeing lessons, the instructor comes already prepared with the horse.

18. Where does the assembly take place before classes?

The participants gather in the small hall: activities for children aged 3–6 years, longeing lessons on ponies and horses.

Gathering in the brick stables: longeing groups, groups and recreational as well as training groups on horses.

Gathering in the wooden stable: longeing groups, groups, as well as recreational and pony training groups.

19. How do I sign up for individual training?

20. How do I sign up for sports groups?

We run sports groups with a jumping profile on ponies. The leading coach is Mr Jacek Pękalski. Those wishing to do so must sign up for a group with Mr Jacek Pękalski so that he can assess their skills. The number of places in sports groups is limited.

30. Hippotherapy is for who?

Hippotherapy is for everyone. Horses help in the therapy of sensory and muscular disorders, enable the correction of postural defects, but also facilitate the breaking down of mental barriers. It is also an ideal form of support for other forms of therapy that children and adults with a disability certificate go through. However, it is not always necessary to have such a certificate in order to participate in activities. This therapy is also for people for whom this is the first contact, and they have some concerns about it. It also helps to boost self-confidence. If you want to learn about the therapeutic power of horses – please feel invited.

31. From what age can hippotherapy be started?

Therapy is best started as early as possible. Sometimes children as young as two years old benefit from the therapeutic qualities of contact with horses. In such a case, of course, everything is adapted accordingly: the instructor and the therapist sit on the horse together with the child.

32. How to sign up for hippotherapy classes?

You sign up for classes directly with the therapist, who will enquire about the details of your current condition and the purpose of the therapy. Katarzyna Krawczyk Phone: 600 835 174.

33. Can I enrol my child, which is qualified for hippotherapy classes, for young children’s (aged 3–6 years) classes?

All children with special needs should be enrolled in hippotherapy classes due to their medical condition. These classes are run by a qualified therapist and a special psychologist so that the contact with the horse will be therapeutic and guided in the best possible way, adapting the classes to the child’s needs. These children cannot be enrolled in classes for young children (aged 3–6 years) because the instructor who runs such classes is not certified as a hippotherapist.

34. Do you organise activities for schools and kindergartens?

A lesson about the horse is an activity that introduces children to horses. During the lesson, children learn about how horses live and their specific behaviours. The daily work of the stables and the care of these animals will also be introduced. They can also learn how to clean the horse and mount it, as well as the opportunity to ride a pony or horse. The activities are designed for groups of preschool and school children. Sign up: rekreacja@torpartynice.pl
